Pool solar panels
Are you planning to build DIY pool solar panels to heat up the water in your pool without any heating expenses? Well you are in the right place to learn how you can build DIY pool solar panels. You will basically be building solar thermal panels and modifying your pool pump to pump water through the solar thermal panels.
The larger your solar thermal panels, the faster your pool will warm up! But the larger it is, the heavier and more immobile it is. You can have multiple panels link up together or have a few large panels link up. It is up to you.
Before you start any project, it is important to plan and lay everything out. Once you have your plans up and flawless, everything will turn up fine.
Basic materials needed to build your very own DIY pool solar panels:
- Lots of wood
- Coating solutions for wood
- Glass
- Copper pipes
- Black rubber mats
- Aluminium foil
- Screws and nails
- Black paint
The design for your heat dispersal unit:
Using your copper pipes, build something like as shown in the picture above. For the grills, use thick copper wires. Once you are done building something like the above, spray paint it black!
You will need to make some minor modifications to the heat dispersal if you are planning to join multiple of them together.
When you are done with your heat dispersals, start crafting frames for each of them based on their dimensions. You should end up with frames with shallows. Next cut your rubber mats up to fit the shallows. Wrap the rubber mats with aluminium foil before attaching the mat to the frame with nails or screws.
With that done, you thermal solar panel is almost complete. Now, install the heat dispersal into the shallow. Make sure it doesn't touch the aluminium foil. Leave a small gap between the foil and your heat dispersal. Cover the frame with the glass. Connect all panels up and you are done.
Next thing you want to do is change the flow of water from your pool pump to push water through your thermal solar panel and out to your pool.
To test if your DIY pool solar panels in working, you can use your hands or legs to feel the temperature of the water that is being pumped from the thermal solar penal to your pool.
